Rachel Brunhild is a fiber artist and painter who uses weaving, stitching, and painting to experience and visually communicate meditation and mindfulness. She creates work of varying scale through thoughtful use of color, texture, and material. Rachel is a Michigan-based artist working in and around Metro Detroit. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Apparel and Textile Design from Michigan State University. While working on her undergraduate degrees, she helped found the art collective Sometimes Art House, during which time she helped organize and curate exhibitions along with creating installations for events. She has had her work printed in Clearline Zine, a Detroit zine with a focus on sustainability and textiles.

Rachel received a Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College for Art and Design in Fibers. While pursuing her degree, she participated in the Graduate Student Exhibition at Pepe Hall. She presented her MFA thesis exhibition Breath: Meditation and Mindfulness through Weaving and Stitch at Cedar House Gallery in the spring of 2023. The exhibition included work that experimented with art-making processes benefitting meditation and mindfulness practices. While creating the work for this exhibition, Rachel explored the connection between body and breath through painting, stitching, and different weaving processes.
